TUS Sandhorst schlägt den Tabellenführer

 

Ganz stark aus der Winterpause meldete sich die 1. Herren des Tus Sandhorst in der Bezirksliga West zurück. Das Team um Kapitän Karsten Gövert schlug den Tabellenführer vom SV Blau-Weiß Emden-Borssum in eigener Halle klar mit 9:3.

Alles schien vorbereitet für einen spannenden Tischtennisabend. Die Trainingstermine davor wurden intensiv genutzt und Abstiegskandidat Eintracht Nüttermoor im ersten Rückrundenspiel auswärts mit 9:1 besiegt. Bei insgesamt nur 6 verlorenen Sätzen mußte man hier schon von einem Klassenunterschied sprechen. Lediglich Heiko Schlake konnte gegen Nüttermoors Nummer 1 Arno Fenske eine 2:0 Satzführung und Matchbälle nicht nach Hause bringen und bescherte damit der engagiert und fair kämpfenden Mannschaft den Ehrenpunkt.

Mit Selbstvertrauen ging es also in das Duell mit Borssum. Wie auch beim Tus hatte es bei den Emdern Umstellungen nach der Hinrunde gegeben. Nachwuchsspieler Keno Bartels ersetzt Abwehrspezialist Ralf Gottschlich im oberen Paarkreuz und auch das mittlere Paarkreuz hat mit Jos Jakobs jugendlichen Zuwachs bekommen. Und der Erfolg beim Herbstmeister Komet Walle zeigte, dass diese Veränderungen die Mannschaft kein Stück schlechter hat werden lassen.

Für die etwa 10 Zuschauer bot sich zu Beginn des Spiel das gewohnte Bild der Sandhorster Doppelstärke. Stephan Grüne/Heiko Schlake bzw. Karsten Gövert und Rückkehrer Tom Talinski sorgten für eine 2:1 Führung. In den Einzeln legte der Tus sofort nach. Grüne, Schlake, der an diesem Abend exellent aufgelegte Ihno Janssen, sowie Karsten Gövert und Tom Talinski bauten die Führung auf 7:2 aus. Nach einem weiteren Sieg von Stephan Grüne, der damit in der Rückrunde in Einzel wie Doppel noch ungeschlagen ist, beendete der Schmetterschlag von Ihno Janssen zum Sieg gegen Ralf Gottschlich die Partie. Mit nun 13:9 Punkten untermauert der Tus Sandhorst seine Ansprüche auf Tabellenplatz 5 und kann sicher das Thema Abstiegskampf endgültig für beendet erklären.
