2.BK: Zweite auswärts zweimal ohne Punkte

4:9 und 5:9 in fremden Hallen als Generalprobe für zwei entscheidende Spiele

Am Doppelspieltags-Wochenende reiste die 2. Herren zunächst nach Süderneuland, die zur Zeit einen Platz im Mittelfeld belegen und am Folgetag zum TSV Holtrop, dem Meisterschaftsaspiranten Nr. 1. Personell musste kurzfristig Egon Diekhoff für beide Spiele ersetzt werden. Leider hat man damit bisher insgesamt weniger als ein Drittel der Spiele mit der Stammbesetzung spielen können.

Gegen Süderneuland konnte in der Hinrunde noch ein Sieg gefeiert werden. Diesmal trat der SSV II im Vergleich zum ersten Spiel jedoch mit seiner etatmäßigen Nr. 3, Meyerhoff, verstärkt an. Einen Dämpfer gab es mit drei verlorenen Eingangsdoppeln. Das obere Paarkreuz des SSV mit Sobola und Fischer ließ sich diesmal keine Punkte nehmen. In der Mitte konnten die Sandhorster drei Punkte einfahren (2x Henning Mattner und 1x Franz Berlin). Jan Willms überzeugte zudem mit einem 3:0 gegen Hornberger. Mehr als diese 4 Punkte konnten an diesem Tag nicht geleistet werden.

Insgesamt präsentierte man sich beim viel aussichtsloser scheinenden Spiel beim Titelfavoriten aus Holtrop um einiges stärker. Im Unterschied zum 3:9 aus der Hinrunde, wurde diesmal immerhin ein 5:9 erreicht. Man war von Beginn an im Spiel. In allen drei Doppeln sowie drei der ersten vier Einzel wurden die Gastgeber über fünf Sätze gefordert. Franz Berlin/ Jan Willms drehten einen 1:2 und 6:10-Rückstand noch in einen Sieg zum 1:2 nach den Doppeln.

Im oberen Paarkreuz hatte Wilko Becker bei seinem Spiel gegen die Holtroper Nr. 1, Siebolds, trotz starken Bällen und einer 2:0-Satzführung das Glück nicht auf seiner Seite und unterlag knapp. Matthias Heeren konnte gegen denselben Gegner in einem ähnlich dramatischen Spiel nervenstark den Entscheidungssatz mit 14:12 für sich entscheiden. Das mittlere Paarkreuz konnte ausgeglichen gestaltet werden. Henning Mattner fuhr hier wiederrum zwei Zähler ein. Zudem zeigte der Vizekeismeister Chirstian Wolf, der an diesem Tag das Sandhorster Sextett komplettierte, eine bärenstarke Leistung und gewann sein Einzel mit 3:1.

Wenn die Formkurve wie gegen Holtrop weiter gesteigert wird, kann den richtungsweisenden nächsten Spielen beim TuS Weene am 24.2. und beim SV Ochtersum II am 10.3. positiv entgegengesehen werden.
