2.BK: Bittere Niederlage der Zweiten

5:9 im Heimspiel gegen den SuS Strackholt

Die TuS-Reserve war mit großem Willen ins Heimspiel gegen Strackholt gestartet und hatte stark begonnen. Die beiden ersten Doppel wurden gewonnen, wobei sich besonders die neu formierte Kombination Matthias Heeren & Daniel Gamboa als äußerst spielstark präsentierte und dem Spitzendoppel der Gäste mit einem ungefährdeten 3:0-Erfolg keine Chance ließ. Auch das dritte Doppel um Franz Berlin & Egon Diekhoff war drauf und dran, musste sich aber nach 2:1-Satzführung noch geschlagen geben. Nachdem im Hinspiel (6:9) zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits alle drei Doppel verloren waren, führte der ambitionierte TuS nun mit 2:1.

Nachdem das obere Paarkreuz dann ausgeglichen spielte, wurde in der Mitte die Führung vergeben, ehe Gamboa nach starkem Spiel den nächsten Sandhorster Punkt zum 4:5 holte. In der zweiten Einzelrunde, konnte dann leider nur noch Franz Berlin einen Sieg für die Gastgeber einfahren. Alle vier anderen Einzel gingen mit 1:3-Sätzen verloren, sodass die Gäste, die sich noch berechtigte Hoffnungen auf die Vizemeisterschaft machen können, mit 9:5 die Oberhand behielten. Schade, da mit dem TuS Weene der Sandhorster Konkurrent um den Relegationsplatz im Parallelspiel verloren hatte. Während es für Weene jedoch bereits das letzte Saisonspiel war, hat der TuS nun eine klare Ausgangsposition: Aus den letzten beiden Spielen (7.4. zu Hause gegen Carolinensiel und am 9.4. in Marienhafe) soll noch der eine Punkt Rückstand auf Weene aufgeholt werden. Der gewonnene direkte Vergleich mit Weene und das klar bessere Spielverhältnis würden gegebenenfalls für Sandhorst reichen, um noch vorbeizuziehen.
